A Day Passes

by | Jan 23, 2015 | Poetry

Quiet of the day’s break
Burning in my ears
Replace the last heartbreak
With the silence of fear.

Though my heart beats away,
Cling to those I hold dear,
My last wish that you'd stay
Is all I can hear.

The sun on to twilight fades,
Night again grows near;
And with the morning I will wake
Hoping to find you here.

My heart beats for my faith, my God, my wife, and our puppy. I am a web strategist by day, but my superhero identity is that of a writer. Every once in a while I also lead classes or conversation groups at my church. I just finished a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Central Baptist Theological Seminary.
