A Day Passes

I wake up each morning hoping and praying that you’ll still be here.

Quiet of the day’s break
Burning in my ears
Replace the last heartbreak
With the silence of fear.

Though my heart beats away,
Cling to those I hold dear,
My last wish that you’d stay
Is all I can hear.

The sun on to twilight fades,
Night again grows near;
And with the morning I will wake
Hoping to find you here.
